PLAYBACK THEATRE ADVANCED INTENSIVE

This course begins with registration at 1 p.m. on the first day and it ends at 3 p.m. on the last day.
 

This course will have three areas of focus, each with a different instructor. It will train students in advanced artistic skills, including fulfilling self-chosen roles, using effective language on stage, hearing and embodying the heart of the story, connecting with other players, warming up an audience or group, and enhancing the arc of a performance (6 days). The second focus is the social awareness necessary to make playback theatre always fair as well as inviting (2 days). The third focus will be the psychological knowledge we need to make playback theatre a truly healing experience for everyone (2 days). Upon completion students will receive a certificate.

All students must have practical experience of playback theatre and must complete Independent Study projects before attending the Advanced Intensive. Click here for project information.
