This is a non-residential workshop. Students are responsible for own accommodations and meals.

This workshop starts at 10:00am and ends at 6:00pm each day. There will be a break for lunch.

Getting a strong start in playback theatre means taking enough time to immerse yourself in the rich atmosphere and dynamics of the playback experience. In this five-day intensive, you’ll learn all the basics, with lots of opportunities to practice. It all begins here, whether or not you have theatre experience. Playback forms will be taught—scenes, fluid sculptures, pairs, and more. Each student will have a chance to try the playback theatre roles of conductor and musician as well as actor. And of course, we will tell and enact stories together, in a supportive spirit of fun and fellowship. Designed for new and relatively new students. Once you have taken the Core Training, many other workshops are open to you.
