Plymouth is an ancient community whose long-time residents have had to make space for political refugees and other immigrants, in addition to dealing with the challenges of growth. In many ways the city has responded with generosity and imagination, but problems remain--problems recognizable to communities throughout the world. This training will focus on ways playback theatre can ease tensions, build bridges, and create a space for an integrated community narrative. The training will include input from community leaders and a performance of Mirror Mirror, the local playback theatre company, which has been working on these issues. Participants will be invited to share their own potential playback theatre projects on immigration-related topics for implementation in their home communities.
Application required.
Prerequisite: Core Training, six months in a pt company, or by special permission
