2006-2008: Playback Theatre Training in the
The School of Playback Theatre, created by Jonathan Fox the founder and artistic director of the original Playback Theatre company, offers a comprehensive training for all levels of experience. This programme is the first time a comprehensive schedule of training in playback theatre is offered in the United Kingdom. The courses will take place across the map of the UK, and range from the entry-level Core Training, to Selected Topics, and then to the ten-day advanced-level Playback Theatre Practice, which precedes the 3 week Leadership Course in New York with Jonathan Fox (next offered in the summer of 2008 in the USA).

Residential* & Non-residential Courses: Courses italicised* are fully residential the fee includes tuition, accommodation and all meals For all other courses, we will recommend suitable accommodation and help with arrangements, if required. Scholarship: Fee reduction is available according to need. Please contact us for application. Payment plans possible by special arrangement. Travel & Transport: A comprehensive guide on how to get to the venues will be provided on enquiry - with information on road routes, nearest train stations, and airports. Where possible, you will be met at the nearest airport or train station and brought to the venue. Timing: Residential* courses start at 3pm on the first day and end at 4pm on the last day. We will work on some evenings. Other 4 & 5 day courses will be 10am 6pm and finish at 4pm on the last day. Double weekend courses are 7-10pm on Friday, Sat & Sun 10am-6pm and 5pm on the last Sunday Sequence of Training: Core training is a prerequisite for all other workshops unless you have been a member of an active playback company six months or more. Participation in two Selected Topic workshops (3-4 day workshops on special topics, such as conducting or acting) is required before you take Playback Theatre Practice. Please call with any questions about prerequisites, advanced placements, exemptions, and for course recommendations. Registration for all workshops should be received 30 days before the start of the workshop. Later registrations will be accepted if spaces are available. Cancellation Policy: Deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel more than 6 weeks before your workshop, the full deposit (less £20 administrative fee) will be held towards future workshops; if less than six weeks, 50% of the deposit is held towards future workshops. If less than 5 days, full deposit is forfeited.
